Magazine cover learner response
1) Add your finished magazine cover as a JPEG image.
2) Type up your feedback from your teacher. If you've received this by email, you can copy and paste it across - WWW and EBI. You don't need to include a mark or grade if you don't want to.
WWW: Dhurata, you have managed to create a satisfactory magazine front cover product following the Rock Sound brand identity. You’ve demonstrated application of knowledge and understanding of media language through your choice of colour scheme, narrative and typography choices, again, all link to the Rock Sound magazine brand. Like other front covers of this production, a single main cover model and minimal copy would communication clear meanings for a potential target audience.
EBI: I do largely agree that the photography could have been better as a higher-resolution image would have made this production feel more professional, something to consider for your upcoming coursework. Again, I do agree with your evaluation that changing the ‘bones098’ font could have been improved to fit more in line with the brand and the artist you’re trying to represent. Finally, I would suggest that you spend more time on the research and planning stages as these sections were underdeveloped e.g. missing a sketch of your design and no analysis of the three prints for Q2.

3) Consider your mark against the mark scheme above. What are the strengths of your production based on the the mark scheme? Think about magazine cover conventions and the media language techniques you have used to communicate with your audience (e.g. mise-en-scene, camera shot etc.) Notice the focus on narrative in the mark scheme for Media language.
I think a strength is the synergy within the colour scheme that creates a brand image for the 'music artist'.
4) Look at the mark scheme again. What can you do to move your mark higher and, if required, move up a level?
I would change the font for the 'bones098' to fit in better with the rest of the magazine and fix the lighting so the quality of the image would be better.
5) What would be one piece of advice you would give a student about to start the same magazine cover project you have just completed?
Test out the environment that you want to take the photograph in to make Sure it will product a good and high quality image.
